The Econometrics Laboratory was instituted by Professor Roger Koenker in 1997 through a National Science Foundation grant. The Laboratory was created to “improve dramatically the computing environment in econometrics for faculty and graduate students at the University of Illinois” (NSF proposal).

Since then, various donations and further grant money have greatly increased the computer power available to graduate economics students at the University of Illinois.

All instructions in this website were written by former and current lab consultants, including Jungmo Yoon, Tom Parker, Andreas Hagemann, Richard Hislop, Ignacio Sarmiento-Barbieri, Mauricio Olivares, and Hongqi Chen.

The Econometrics Laboratory is located in 9A David Kinley Hall in the Economics Department:

The Econometrics Laboratory is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Lab offers a varied array of hardware and software.

Support is available through e-mail to the current Econometric Lab Consultant, Avishek Dutta.
